I am a relentless consumer of culture, pop or otherwise. I am constantly watching, reading, clicking or listening. I know can't keep up with everything, but at the moment that isn't stopping me from trying.
I think nuance makes things interesting...if I learned anything from high school speech class (besides the occasional habit of talking with my hands), it's the value of "acknowledging complexity" - basically, no matter how much you believe in an opinion or point of view, you should at least respect the existence of the other side of the issue.
Even though I occasionally get caught up in generalities, I always find myself drawn toward those unique perspectives and alternate takes.
I studied journalism in college but quickly moved away from the field when I graduated, so GG is where I get my fix for writing. I'll do my best to find those unique perspectives when I can, but in the meantime I watch, read, click and listen enough to know that I am rarely right about anything.
