After nearly 11 years in the newspaper racket, John recently quit his job to chase the dream of being his own boss while still getting paid to write.
Good news on two counts: 1) His wife has not left him despite said decision; and 2) He's still young enough to go broke if things don't work out and have time to recover.
He graduated from Virginia with a double major in English and History, while also toiling in the basement of Newcomb Hall for the Cavalier Daily, which means he was assigned many books that were not read. Upon receiving his degree, he took the requisite vow of poverty and entered the journalism career. Now making his day-to-day coin as a freelancer, he has in essense taken the vow of Double Poverty, where the scores can really change.
In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, reading, cooking and hanging out with his wife and new rescue dogs. Main hobbies include watching baseball and professional wrestling, and playing video games. He is married with two dogs.
