Sebastian Vettel took his first pole as a Ferrari driver, breaking Mercedes streak of 23 straight, the second longest ever in F1. Hamilton and Rosberg occupied Row 3, P5 and 6 respectively.  Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) entered the race with a 21-point lead on teammate Nico Rosberg in the drivers’ standings. F1: Hungary – Vettel wins, Red Bull 2-3  #JB17

All the front runners began the race on soft tires. Mercedes (Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg) locked down Row 1 again, followed by Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull). F1: Monaco – Rosberg takes third straight Monaco win as Mercedes scuttles Hamilton

Ten of the last 11 Grands Prix in Monaco have been won from pole position, held by Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) for this year’s event. Lewis Hamilton won his seventh pole of the season, beating out Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg who made his eighth straight front-row start.
