FIA WEC: 6 Hours of COTA – Rain delays Practice 2, Toyota turns fastest lap

The heavy weather that had been in the area all day finally hit right as the second practice session for the FIA World Endurance Championship’s 6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas was about to begin. The start of the session was delayed from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, with the course red flagged about 15 min in. FIA WEC: 6 Hours of COTA – Audi, Aston Martin fastest in Practice 1

The first 30 min of Practice 1 for the 6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas saw Lucas Di Grassi in the #1 Audi Sport Team Joest R18 e-tron quattro putting down the fast lap at 1 min 52.611 sec, 0.046 sec ahead of Sebastien Buemi in the #8 Toyota TS040 Hybrid and 0.610 sec faster than Romain Dumas in the #14 Porsche 919 Hybrid. FIA WEC: Porsche LMP1 preparing for second part of season

To prepare for the second part of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) the Porsche Team last week tested the Le Mans Prototype Porsche 919 Hybrid for three days at the Eurospeedway Lausitz near Dresden, Germany.
