Nico Rosberg took pole ahead of Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, with Williams locking up Row 2 (Felipe Massa, P3; Valtteri Bottas, P4). The Top 3 remained intact through the start and opening lap. FIA WEC: 6 Hours of Fuji – Toyota scores home race 1-2; Ihara on LMP2 podium

Lewis Hamilton won his seventh pole of the season, beating out Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg who made his eighth straight front-row start.
