Friday LinkFrogging - 10/22/10

I, your humble editor, have a confession to make.

When I sat down to compile this week's list of links, I had no cheesecake.  That, dear reader(s) is a first.  I usually have the pick made by Monday with at least an inkling of what I'm going to write about.

This week, nothing.

None of the new movies moved me.  We've used a lot of the current TV stars.  I have a "do not use" list that includes Kardashians and Lohans.

I was listening to Prince's LotusFlow3r CD today and one of the tracks reminded me of "Batdance."  This, of course, got me thinking ofVicki Vale herself, Kim Basinger.

My wife mentioned that Bob Guccione died this week.  Looking for links to Bob is a risky internet search kids.  It did, however, remind me that Helen Mirren was in Caligula.

In the end, I decided to go with Anne Hathaway.

Why?

Well, last week was Stephe's birthday.  Stephe has a thing for Ms. Hathaway and I forgot to use her last week as I planned to.

Simple really.

Maybe I overthink these things.

On to the links.

Friday LinkFrogging - 8/20/10

Some things in life are just inevitable.

Death.

Taxes.

Kids returning to school.

Partisan politics.

Child stars turning into adult train wrecks.

And bad Michael Bay movies.

Why the laundry list?  Good question.

The answer is simple.

This week's cheesecake selection was one of those foregone inevitablilities.

Say hello to Jennifer Aniston.

Yeah, I know.

I've had the picture in the file since The Bounty Hunter died stillborn in the theaters.  Nobody makes a middling romantic comedyquite like Ms. Aniston these days.  She's clinging to the fraying ends of her Rachel persona for all she's worth.  She still wants to be there with you.  She is willing to be there in a partial naked, but never really showing anything kind of way.  She wants to be there for you the way Meg Ryan was before she had plastic surgery at the hands of the Joker.

That's what makes today's release of The Switch so interesting.  Its not necessarily a romantic comedy.  Its kind of dark, like The Good Girl.  Her co-star is Jason Bateman, a long time friend who she hasn't been romantically linked with (at least not as of this writing).  In the grand scheme of things, The Switch is what passes for a daring choice by Ms. Aniston.  The big question is whether or not audiences will buy it.

I think not.

Still, its release gave me a chance to post the picture and get that monkey off our backs.

On to the links.

Friday LinkFrogging - 7/30/10

Its hot out there kids. Summer is in full swing and its getting harder and harder to cool off.

Its also been a hot month for us here at GonzoGeek.  Our traffic went through the roof thanks to folks looking for pictures of Katherine Heigl.  We thank each and every one of you who looked at this picture.

This week saw the debut of season 2 of Jersey Shore on MTV.  MTV finally worked out the last possible iteration of the The Real Worldidiom and has started moving the entire cast to a different city, presumably to spread the crabs around.

No, this doesn't mean Snooki is going to be our cheesecake.  I wouldn't do that to you.  Instead, I decided to go with a Jersey Girl who is much gentler on the eyes.

Say hello to the pride of Cherry Hill, New Jersey...Ali Larter.

She first jumped into our collective consciousness wearing a whipped cream bikini in Varsity Blues.  Then she spent a few seasons as America's favorite schizo She-Hulk on Heroes.  Now expecting her first child, she'll be seen next kicking zombie ass in Resident Evil:  Afterlife.

On to the links.
