Jibbies' Top 10 Metal Albums of 2013

1. Clutch – ‘Earth Rocker’ (Weathermaker) – Producer: Machine For the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Strange Cousins From The West,’ Clutch took a step back into their heavier, more concise past with great results. All the groove is still there, the sound is at least as clean and organic as ever, and you will inevitably find your rump shaking while your head’s banging.     2. Red Fang – ‘Whales and Leeches’ (Relapse) –...

The Jibbies & Loond Show - Episode 059 - 2013 Top 10 Metal Albums

Just in time for last-minute stocking stuffing for the metalhead in your life (Don’t have one? Too bad for you.), Jibbies & Loond present their Top 13 Metal Albums of 2013. The duo overlap twice (Carcass, Clutch), but have a lot of fun reminding each other of some the truly great music that came out under the heavy flag this year. Keeping with the generally positive vibe of the show, J&L stick to what was good until the very end, when Jibbies can no longer contain his wrath for one very-hyped, very shitty piece of music. Enjoy the ‘cast, and let us know what we should’ve included but didn’t.

My Favorite Albums Of 2013

Top Metal/Heavy Albums Carcass – Surgical Steel (Nuclear Blast).  After a 17 year absence, the British Death Metal legends are back with a record that sounds as if they were never gone.  Jeff Walker and Bill Steer have recruited two fresh new additions to the ranks in Daniel Wilding (drums) and Ben Ash (guitar).  Mr. Steer shines bright with his fantastic leads and guitar work to remind us of his stature as a musician of the highest caliber.  This is a ferocious reco...
