Team Penske’s (Chevy) domination of qualifying continued for the Firestone 600, Will Power (#1) taking pole, followed by Simon Pagenaud (#22) and Helio Castroneves (#3). Carlos Munoz (#26 Andretti Autosport, Honda), fresh off his first career IndyCar victory last weekend at Belle Isle was the first non-Penske qualifier, lining up fourth.
