Yesterday, I had to return a lot of phone calls, which meant a lot of time on hold. This is what happens. "I'm Michael Keaton!" And so you can see where I started...in case you didn't see it yesterday.... "I am the Mannydamm Batman!" Or as I like to look at it - Cause and Effect. It is entirely possible that this image might change before I'm happy with it.

Last year, the guy who directed the Fame remake caught the Internet off guard with his short spec film re-imagining the Mortal Kombat universe. "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth" was much grittier than the 1995 feature adaptation of the video game series (although it did suffer from a lack of cameos from the WMAC Masters) and Kevin Tancharoen (brother of Whedonverse alum Mo) made it with the hopes of convincing Warner Brothers to let him helm a full reboot. Don't head the theaters yet, but Warne...
So, I'm sitting at the computer waiting for some files to download and the service tech to come back to the phone. There's people dropping by asking me to fix things for them and because I'm not talking on the phone in my ear they just assume I'm not really on it. Wish I was joking. Here's today's quick sketches. In brightest day, in blackest night, Geoff Johns will not escape my sight "I am the Mannydamm Batman! Wait, what? I drew him with real legs and not ...
The other night I took my wife to see Duran Duran for her birthday. She was a huge Duranie (Durany? Durani?) back in the day and never got a chance to see them live. Wednesday night they played a small venue here in Houston and we took in the show. Let me just say that Simon and the lads can still go. Let me also say that I had forgotten how strong "Rio" was. On the drive home we got to talking about songs they didn't play. That led, as so many conversations...
I stumbled upon this book at the local library earlier today. I was a bit surprised. Stan Lee is known for writing/creating most of the characters associated with Marvel Comics. From the Fantastic Four to the X-Men they all sprang from the fertile frontal lobe of Stan the Man. But drawing? That really wasn't Stan's thing. Intrigued, I picked up the book and opened it to the first page. HIRE JACK KIRBY! There were a lot of blank pages after that. Who says its hard to break into comic...
A tremendous Friday to you all. Yes, I just dropped some Rome on you. What can I say? Its Smackoff Friday and I just back to the office after running some errands. The calls were well above par so far and if there's anything we like here, its good smack. Well, that and cheesecake. See what I did there? Clever, I know. While you sit there dazzled by epic wordplay, say hello to this week's cheesecake, Jennifer Garner. Ms. Garner stars opposite Russell ...
So...work has been kicking my butt for the past couple weeks (months). To let off a little steam, I decided to make myself draw for at least a half hour to an hour a day. You know, to keep me from hurting a co-worker. Some of the results are garbage, some are okay. I'll be posting the better pieces here. Maybe, over time, we'll see improvement. First out of the gate is Dr. Strange. I've always liked the outfit, and now that I've gone grey at the temples, I kind of loo...
Welcome back kids. Now that most of the Gonzo Compadres have recovered from their varietal trips to SXSW, we're back and getting down to it. Well most of us anyway. John is in Hotlanta this weekend for Wrestlemania. Its his first trip to the big event despite a lifelong obsession with the squared circle. Sure, the Final Four is this weekend, and we'll be keeping an eye on that, but we're Geeks. We still enjoy the glory of the squared circle too. Well, ma...
