You know what's great?
When the universe throws you a big fat pitch right across the middle of the plate and gives you a chance to totally tee off on it.
I had last week's entry all ready to roll and then Stephe threw me a fun change up and we ran with it.
That allowed me to push that entry down to this week and here we are.
We could have gone with an Oscar nominee, but we've already featured most of them.
Its Rodeo time in Houston, so I'm sure I could have gone with one of their featured performers, but we're not.
Please say hello to Keri Russell.
I love when the pop culture landscape throws up neon arrows that point me in a direction I wouldn't normally go. That's how Ms. Russell got here.
She's starring in Dark Skies
which opens in theaters today. She's also starring in the new FX series, The Americans
. Its not quite triangulation, but its close enough for our purposes.
Ms. Russell is most famous for her role as the ridiculously curly-headed protagonist in the WB's Felicity
. I can honestly say I never watched a single episode of that show's 84 episode run, but even I was aware the insane flap that occurred when Ms. Russell cut off her curls.
In addition to the aforementioned, Ms. Russell has also appeared in such other geek favorites as Mission Impossible III, Married...with Children, We Were Soldiers
and as the voice of Wonder Woman
in the 2009 animated movie of the same name.
Her role as a Cold War spy in The Americans
is getting rave reviews so let's all sit back and see where the roller coaster takes her.
