It's been a crazy decade for fans of the superhero genre.
Since the release of Iron Man
in 2018, we've seen Marvel Studios hammer out a series of movies that brought our favorite Marvel heroes, popular and obscure, to the big screen. As the MCU gained momentum, the heroes once relegated to spinner racks and comic shops went mainstream.
And it was all leading up to this!
Of course I saw Infinity War
in the theater. It was a breathtaking payoff to a decade of build.
Watching it again at home, I couldn't help but be amazed again at the achievement that this movie truly is. For six years we've been watching Thanos manipulate things behind the scenes. Now, the menace of the mad Titan is fully realized and the collected might of the heroes of the MCU may not be enough to stop him.
We've got Avengers. We've got Guardians. We've - kinda - got a Hulk. It's just wall-to-wall superhero action in the might Marvel manner.
My love of all things Avengers is well documented in these parts. To see these characters I've loved for so long so perfectly rendered fills me with joy, the kind of long suffering geek joy that is hard to express.
