Welcome to June kids.
If the past couple of weeks have been any indication, it is going to be a long hot summer here in the Lone Star State.
We're already flirting with record highs, so we've got that going for us.
So, when it's this kind of hot, what can one do?
One can stay inside and watch television.
In my case, I've been watching the new Showtime offering, Patrick Melrose
That Benedict Cumberbatch is going to win an Emmy for his portrayal of the titular haunted junkie.
My wife is endlessly amused that I'm having trouble with the straight line time jumps when I'm fully capable of explaining elaborate time travel movies and their reality shattering consequences. Too straight line for me.
Of course, if we've got a British dude in soul trouble, you know he's going to be surrounded by women who are either the cause or the solution to the problem.
Unfortunately, so far, it seems to be far more the former in Patrick's case.
So, after checking through the cast list and doing some selfless research, I've decided to feature one of those ladies in this week's outing.
Please say hello to Holliday Grainger.
Ms. Grainger plays Bridget Watson Scott in Patrick Melrose
. Her character is a social climber who ends up on the outside looking in.
You've also seen her in The Borgias, Bonnie and Clyde, Cinderella
and C.B. Strike
Keep your eyes open. I predict you'll be seeing more of her soon.
Let's hit the links.
