Sorry about last week kids.
I was on a total media lock down so that I wouldn't run into any Infinity War
You know what? It worked.
I did not see or hear anything that ruined the movie for me. I was able to enjoy it from the opening scene all the way to the final stinger.
The only fatality was last week's LinkFrogging.
I hope you'll forgive me.
I'll do my best to make it up to you.
This week's big movie opening is a remake of the 1987 Goldie Hawn/Kurt Russell classic, Overboard
As another example of Hollywood's creative bankruptcy and overwhelming political correctness, the remake is gender flipped and multi-cultured.
Those things aren't, in and of themselves, bad. However, in this case, much like the Ghostbusters remake, it just seems forced.
Never mind that the original holds up and didn't need to be remade.
Never mind that Hollywood continues to try to force Eugenio Derbez into our lives, despite the fact that nobody asked them to.
The only compelling reason to possibly see this movie is this week's cheesecake.
Please say hello, AGAIN
, to Anna Faris.
Ms. Faris takes on the Kurt Russell role. Or is the Goldie Hawn role.
Maybe its the Kate Hudson role.
I can't even tell.
Since her last outing as cheesecake, Ms. Faris has upped her Q rating with her role on Mom
. She's got great chemistry with Allison Janney.
She's also starred in The Emoji Movie, 22 Jump Street
She has also famously and publicly gotten divorced from Chris Pratt.
As I said earlier today, its a shame that her first post-divorce movie is going to get buried by her ex's blockbuster.
Better luck next time.
Let's hit the links.
