Welcome back my friends. Another week in the books and its time to see what's been up in my pop culture world.
- Really, this was what the weekend was all about. The third MCU outing for the God of Thunder was, in a word, AMAZING! It was a buddy comedy. It was full of callbacks and Easter Eggs. Hemsworth, Hiddleston and Ruffalo are at the top of their game. The story was strong. And, despite what it says about me, I don't think Cate Blanchett has ever been hotter. Plus, there was evidence of life for Beta Ray Bill (!), Man-Thing(!!) and Bi-Beast (!!!). Verily, go see this movie!!
RING OF HONOR
- For years, John has been trying to get me on the ROH bandwagon. I had no access to the program in Houston. When I moved to Austin, low and behold, ROH was a weekly broadcast. I got the broadcast just as Cody Rhodes was laying his claim to the promotion. I am enjoying it so far. I'm learning the cast of characters and getting to learn the promotion. So far so good.
- First there was the news that Zachary Levi had been cast as Captain Marvel. Then the rumors began to swirl that Mark Strong was in talks to play Dr. Sivana. Add to that the previously confirmed casting of The Rock as Black Adam and it looks like the Big Red Cheese is going to be cinematic magic. I can't wait to see how this works out.
