Welcome to Comic-Con week kids.
While I won't be in sunny San Diego, Stephe will be there with some dispatches.
In the meantime, it's time to see what's been going on.
First, I didn't watch Game of Thrones last night. I'm watching it now. Why you may ask? Well, let's get to it.
JASON ISBELL and the 400 UNIT
- the wife and I took in our first concert as Austinites last night. That show was Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit at the ACLive theater. Isbell's lastest album, The Nashville Sound
, has been my soundtrack for the last month and his current single, If We Were Vampires
, is the greatest country song since He Stopped Loving Her Today. What does all that mean? It means that my first Austin concert experience was everything I'd hoped it would be and I can wait for more.
- Did you see the big announcement? Did you hear all the hubbub that followed? Here's the video. You decide for yourself. I did.
SANDMAN SLIM - an arrogant punk rock wizard returns from Hell to LA with vengeance on his mind. Fallen Angels, Anti-Angels, and other Hollywood monsters populate the pages of Richard Kadrey's first novel featuring his anti-hero. It was a fun read full of profanity, violence and magic. Recommended reading for our fans.
