Friday LinkFrogging - 5/5/17
All right kids, its finally here.

That's right, it's a big...BIG...weekend in the Geek-o-Sphere.

Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day.  Find out where you can pick up free comics in your area RIGHT HERE!

Of course, that's only part of what makes this weekend so Geek-tastic!

Today also marks the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The latest entry in the MCU comes with a huge amount of fanfare.

It also marks the beginning of a true Season of the Geek.  In the coming months we will see Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Thor and the Justice League on the big screen, and that's just the superhero movies.  We'll also see more Transformers, Aliens, Pirates, Apes, Blade Runner and Star Wars before year's end.

It's a good time to be a geek.

If you need more proof you need look no further than this week's cheesecake.

Please say hello to Pom Klementieff.

Prior to appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Ms. Klementieff was most famous for her role in the ill-advised Oldboy remake starring Josh Brolin.

She appears in GOTGV2 as Mantis.  That's going deep into the cosmic reaches of the MCU.

Who is Mantis?  Why, she's the Celestial Madonna.

The what?

She's the mother of the Celestial Messiah.

What?

Let's just say it involves knocking roots with a sentient tree.

Yeah, its got a whole Swamp Thing meets Evil Dead vibe to it.

So, we probably won't be seeing that in the MCU.

For now.

Let's hit the links.
