Welcome to mid-February kids.
Before we get to the summer blockbuster season - which starts in March now - we've got to get through our annual studio purge.
This is the time of year when the studios unload all the movies they have little or no confidence in on the masses.
That must mean its time for an Ice Cube movie.
Now, I'm a fan of Cube's hip hop work, but let's be honest, his cinematic output has been less than stellar.
I mean Barbershop was pretty good, but Ride Along 2? You're not really even trying. I guess as long as the checks clear its all good...right?
Today brings us his latest outing, Fist Fight
. In it, if the commercials are to be believed, Cube's teacher challenges fellow teacher, Charlie Day, to a fight after school.
That's high concept right there.
Emphasis on the high.
Good thing for us, Fist Fight
gives us a chance to revisit a cheesecake favorite.
Please say hello, again
, to Christina Hendricks.
Ms. Hendricks is most famous for her role as Joan Harris on Mad Men
. Since that show wrapped, she's appeared in Zoolander 2, Hap and Leonard and Bad Santa 2
. She's clearly looking for her next big role.
I don't think she'll find it in her new movie.
Ms. Hendricks appears in Fist Fight
as Ms. Monet.
I'm just guessing, but I am willing to bet there is a joke about the pronunciation of her name.
