Happy Friday the 13th.
It's been a while since we had one of these fall on a LinkFrogging day. Five years to be exact.
A lot has changed in that time, but not what we do here at the 'Geek. We still dig into the world of pop culture to give you our own spin on these ephemeral topics. It's what we do and we love it.
One of those things has, on and off, been Marvel's Agents of SHIELD
The show was originally supposed to serve as a bridge between Marvel's television and movie offerings. After a creative rift between those two divisions, the show has largely become its own entity. That has given us four seasons of maddeningly errant content. The show has been so uneven that my teenage sons have sworn it off.
But I'm a completist, so I've stuck it out. This season my patience has paid off.
Split into a pair of half-season arcs, Agents of SHIELD
has given us Ghost RIder and, now, LMDs.
In case you don't know, LMD stands for Life Model Decoy. These are long standing characters who are used to stand in for real people who may be in danger. The current LMD on AoS
is named Aida and she's played by this week's cheesecake.
Please say hello to Mallory Jansen.
Prior to her attempts at creating Skynet, Ms. Jansen was most famous for her work as Queen Madalena on Galavant
. She's an Australian import so most of her filmography is Australian content that I've never seen.
She did, interestingly, play Helena Christensen in an INXS television mini-series.
It's a new year. Buy early kids.
