It was a another rainy weekend in H-Town. That gave me the opportunity to do some stuff. What stuff? This stuff!
THE FUNDAMENTALS OF CARING
- Friday nights at our house are reserved for pizza and family unwinding time. With the Olympics obliterating out summer viewing (ie AGT
) we had to dip into the Netflix originals pool this weekend. I'm glad we did. We thoroughly enjoyed The Fundamentals of Caring
. Starring Paul Rudd as a broken man trying to find his way back as a caregiver to a disabled young man, Fundamentals of Caring
delivers on all levels. If you've got Netflix, give it a look. You'll be glad you did.
WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER: FIRST DAY OF CAMP
- Speaking of Paul Rudd and Netflix, I finally got around to the Netflix sequel to the cult favorite movie. Set at the beginning of the summer at Camp Firewood, the movie is as absurd as you'd expect it to be. Everyone is back, 15 years older and acting younger. It's hilarious and annoying at the same time. If you're a fan of the original and you haven't watched this, you should.
GREEN ARROW: THE NIGHT BIRDS
- What was likely the final volume of New 52 Green Arrow turned out to be an alright read. Oliver, trying to find a place for himself, ends up back on the mean streets of Seattle as he takes on killer robots and magical Mexican drug gangs. Yeah, it's kinda all over the place. For completists only.
