Hey, remember when I used to do this every Monday? Me too. The last few Mondays haven't gone exactly the way I wanted so I got behind. Rather than try to catch up on everything, I'll just give you a few highlights to get the feature back on track. Here's some stuff I've done over the last few weeks.
LEGENDS OF TOMORROW
- My boys and I finally finished Season One of the CW team series. The season was uneven as it tried to find its feet. Every time they seemed to be finding their groove, they'd take two steps back. In the end, the season was above average and the home stretch seemed to find its footing. The final scene teasing the arrival of the JSA gives me hope for Season 2.
And as we were watching the final two episodes, the trailer for Season 2 dropped. Here it is:
WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT
- the wife and I watched the Tina Fey/Margot Robbie vehicle a couple of weeks ago. The movie was marketed as a comedy when it came out earlier. That was a mistake. The movie was funny, but it was not a comedy. It was a drama with heart. If you missed it, you might want to check it out on VOD. It's worth a watch.
- I picked up three volumes of Alan Moore's Doc Savage riff. It's good work. Moore is always a strong storyteller. He loves to dive deep into archetypes and put his own spin on them. That's exactly what he does with Strong. It's steampunk. It's sci-fi. It's Kirby. It's Burroughs. It's just fun.
