Once in a while a Rock band comes along that blows your socks off…and everyone needs to know about it. In this case I am referring to the most awesome Mos Generator. Hailing from Port Orchard, Washington; this three piece is the epitome of timeless, no-frills, and incredibly talented. They are bluesy, heavy, doomy, jazz fusiony, and killer boogie. The technical precision, execution, and high caliber musicianship of the rhythm section consists of Sean Booth (bass) and Jon Garrett (drums). The band is led by main man Tony Reed (vocals/guitar) who is a musical journey-man of our time. I’ve been fortunate to have seen this amazing band many times and each time I have been floored by every performance. Tony is a multi-instrumentalist…he plays guitar, bass, and drums and plays each instrument as if it is his main forte. To top that all off, he also has a killer voice and can sing his ass off. I’ve had the pleasure of hanging out with and talking to Tony many times and I have never met a more humble, likeable, friendly, and interesting dude. Not only can he play many instruments, but he is also a professional in Audio Mastering. His musical influences span the entire spectrum of sounds and genres of a vast musical landscape. This is one hella-awesome band.
So do yourself a favor and buy their kick-ass records and make sure to catch them live and tearing up a stage near you. Mos Generator is currently on tour with Year Of The Cobra.
