Alright, so, I didn't get this done last week. The week just got away from me with end of the school year familial commitments. Yesterday was a holiday and I took full advantage of that fact.
All of that being said, here's a look at what I've been up to...pop culture wise.
- I took a murder of teenage boys to see this one on Saturday afternoon and quite enjoyed myself. Sure, there were too many characters. Yes, the Wolverine appearance was gratuitous. No, I'm not a huge fan of the villain Apocalypse. All that being said, it was a fun summer popcorn movie and when you're dealing with mutants, that's about the best you can hope for.
- I read three volumes of Scott Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque's continuing saga of Skinner Sweet and the other American Vampires. The saga continues to be enjoyable and we've now reached the space race. Vampires in space? Sure. Why not.
- Watched the Tina Fey/Amy Poehler vehicle Sunday night. It wasn't great, but it was a lot better than it had any right to be. Seeing Poehler and Fey switch their generally accepted roles was fun. John Cena was good as a statue. Bobby Monaghan needs to do more drugs.
