Here we go.
THE BIG SHORT - the wife and I took advantage of a sleepover to take in the latest offering from Adam McKay. In addition to a slew of excellent performances, the film cuts through the arcane financial terminology to get to the fraud at the heart of the financial meltdown. Entertaining and infuriating in equal parts.
THE BIG SHORT - I'm double dipping here because I had started the Michael Lewis book before we went to see the movie. As he did in Moneyball, Lewis digs deep into the ephemeral at the heart of the story and makes it understandable...ish. He also humanizes the crisis by giving us a few actual humans to be out proxies and touchpoints.
GLENN FREY - As I was putting this together the news of Glenn Frey's passing hit. I saw the Eagles on the FIRST leg of the eternal "Hell Freezes Over" tour. Its the only time I ever saw Glenn Frey live. I'm just going to let the music do the talking.
