Well, it's Monday again. Where the hell did my weekend go?
BRIAN REGAN - the stand-up's stand-up, Regan went where nobody has gone in a long time this weekend. He did a sold out Radio City show live on Comedy Central. I thought the material was a bit uneven, certainly not Regan's best, but if this brings us more specials like this on Comedy Central, then Regan has cemented his place in comedy history.
THE MUPPETS - this modern update of the Jim Henson characters is a lot of fun. The show inside of the show premise doesn't seem quite as stale as it should with these fun, over the top characters. It holds on to the old Muppet Show formula of guest star and musical act. Statler and Waldorf are still heckling, only from the front row now. The show has a lot of promise. Let's see how it goes.
THE ROSS REPORT - I got a chance to see Good Ole JR last weekend. As I was chatting with the guy in front of me in line, he told me how good Ross' podcast was. I checked it out on iTunes, downloaded a few episodes and gave them a listen. The dude was right. JR talks old school, new school and all schools in between with guys he's met and made over the last 40 years. As I'm writing this, I'm listening to the Magnum TA episode. Ross is a natural interviewer and the respect his friends have for him is evident. Download an episode and give it a listen. You'll be glad you did.
