Yes, I took last Monday off. It was a holiday. It was also my birthday.
I took the day off.
In the meantime, I've done some stuff. Let's take a look.
WWE: LEGENDS OF MID-SOUTH WRESTLING - I didn''t really want to watch it, but I had to. It was that sick way you rubberneck at a car crash. WWE tries to explain Mid-South? No way this is going to work. The WWE parts, including the dubbed in generic music, didn't, but the Mid-South wrestling still speaks for itself. When you've got JYD, Dibiase, Duggan, Williams and the Freebirds firing on all cylinders, it makes for good viewing. What surprised me most was how much Superdome footage they used. That and the shoehorning in of Shawn Michaels who was a jobber in Mid-South. Sure he put over Dibiase, but still.
AUSTIN POWERS - Saturday night's family movie night was the first Austin Powers flick. The boys laughed and giggled as they should being the movie's target audience. I fell asleep, because I've never thought the franchise was especially funny. Still, now they'll understand when I say "Yeah baby!" So there is that.
NFL - It was a rough opening weekend around my house with both the Texans and the Saints losing. It was even worse because the Texans seem to be in genuine disarray and have not idea what they are doing at QB. It could be a long season, but at least there will be football on Sundays.
