I had an epiphany in San Diego last week kids.
I realized that there is a lot of stuff going on in pop culture that I'm just not interested in.
People were stoked about Supernatural. Never watched it.
Funko? Some of its cool, but its about to collapse under its own weight.
Walking Dead? I'll stick to the comics.
Yes, its hard times out here for an old geek like me.
I first noticed this phenomenon taking place during the hey days of Lost. I just couldn't get up the excitement to dive in. I was still smarting from the genre disaster that was Heroes and didn't feel like putting myself through it again.
I've gotten more selective in my geekery it seems.
What does any of this mean?
It means that the worlds of Lost and the MCU, one of my favorites, collide today in the new release, Ant-Man.
How you may or may not ask?
The collision comes in the person of this week's cheesecake. Please say hello to Evangeline Lilly.
This is not Ms. Lilly's first time garnering this honor. No, she was cheesecake way back HERE.
Since then she's gone on to have a couple of kids and star in a couple of Hobbit movies where she accomplished the simple feat of being more masculine than Orlando Bloom.
That's really not hard kids.
Today she's starring as Hope Van Dyne in the latest chapter of the MCU, Ant-Man.
The early reviews are positive, so things are looking good for Ms. Lilly as she buzzes her way into the MCU.
Wasp. Get it?
And, if any MCU movie needs a good stinger it's Ant-Man.
