GonzoGeek panel: Bruce, Chris, John, Hunter, David Cantu of Cinema Deviant,
film critic Randall Yelverton, Rey Swanko and Bruce’s copy of WWE 13 for Xbox
Amy Adams, American Hustle (12/1)
Blanchett, Blue Jasmine (1/30)

Osage County (40/1)
by Bovada (formerly Bodog).
this is going to be an all Hustle or Wolf zone. No Wolf nomination in this
category makes it easy. The lovely and immensely talented Amy Adams takes it in
a film that makes me long for the good ol’ days I just barely missed out on.
call here. Cate Blanchett and Amy Adams both won Golden Globes, Sandra Bullock
was in space, Meryl Streep's always a contender and football in the groin has
football in the groin. Cate Blanchett is the huge favorite in the betting odds,
so even though I've never heard of the movie I'll go with her.
is the exact opposite of Best Picture. Sure, any one of the actresses could
win. They all had great performances, but the moment that Emma Thompson wasn't
nominated for Saving Mr. Banks, the only actress that had a shot was taken out
of the running. Cate Blanchett wins.
hoping to see Gravity sometime this weekend.
It might change my mind, but probably not. Cate Blanchett has been my pick since I saw
Blue Jasmine several months ago. She
knocked it out of the park in Woody Allen’s New York version of Streetcar. That final scence. Yeah.
She earned it.
basically carried the movie by herself as her character was alone with her
thoughts. Throw in an intense situation and what you have is a performance that
practically shows a timeline of a mental breakdown. The only other contenders
could be Meryl Streep or Amy Adams but with this being a unique film I think
her panic driven role is going to come out on top.
the best of the bunch and the odds on favorite. The only question is whether
voters will steer away from Blue Jasmine due to Dylan Farrow's recent
allegations about Woody Allen.

WINNER: AMY ADAMANT
Streep sits at 40/1 so we won’t be seeing her as The Big Show this year. Instead we get…
Adams – got the gig based on previous work with the person in charge. Red hair.
Pale skin. Employed an odd accent
Blanchett – seen as the biggest lock of all the nominees. Thus, she gets the biggest athlete on the
roster…THE BIG SHOW
Bullock – talented worker who gets by on playing the same character over and
Dench – hey, she’s British!...BRITISH BULLDOG
bell rings and Blanchett goes right after Adams. Ever the opppotunist, Bullock takes it
to Dench. After a couple of minutes of in ring
brutality, Blanchett takes Adams to the outside to continue the assault. At 4:09, Bullock continues her assault on
Dench with a DDT through the announce table.
That’s no way to treat a Dame!
Back inside the ring, Adams has mounted a stunning comeback and levels
Blanchett with White Noise and quickly covers for the pinfall. The heavy favorite is out! Bullock hits an Attitude Adjustment on
Dench. The crowd is turning on
Bullock. Seeing her chance, Adams
attacks Bullock with a fallaway slam.
Dench is on her feet and hits a big running powerslam on Adams. Not to be outdone, Bullock blindsides Dench
and hits her with a facebuster. We have
reached the 11 minute mark. Everyone is
feeling the effects of the match. Dench
grabs Adams and nails her with a pair of DDTs and covers for the 3. Adams is hustled out. Dench is feeling it now. Unfortunately, she seems to have forgotten
about Bullock. Ever the opportunist,
Bullock hits an Attitude Adjustment and that’s all she wrote for Dench.
