Friday LinkFrogging - 8/23/13

Put away the suntan lotion and the beach towels.  The summer of 2013 is pretty much over.

The big movies are done.

The kids are heading back to school.

Preseason football is on TV...if anyone cares.

In fact, the only thing left before we call it a summer is the end of the world.

WHAT?

No, not the actual, zombie-infested-plague-of-locusts-666-Michae-Stipe-predicted-civilization-finale.

No, what I'm talking about is the conclusion of that most British of trilogies, the Three Flavours Cornetto.

What started in a two-bedroom flat in Spaced ends on an epic pub crawl in today's The World's End.

Along the way we've taken cricket bats to the aforementioned zombies and shot holes in buddy movies tropes in Hot Fuzz.

The Edgar Wright troupe has delivered the goods time and again.

And, as a fitting sendoff they also delivered this week's cheesecake. Please say hello to Rosamund Pike.

Ms. Pike is part of the pub crawling crew of The World's End. She's also appeared in such other Geek approved fare as Jack Reacher, Wrath of the Titans and Johnny English Reborn.

She also achieved that highest of all Geek nobility when she played Miranda Frost in 2002's Die Another Day. Yes, she's a Bond girl.

Let's hit the links.
