The night before I arrived, a 21-year old from Killeen, trying to escape from police chasing him on suspicion of having stolen the car he was in, ran down 23 people on a pedestrian section of Red River Ave., killing two and critically injuring 8 others. There was concern as to what the appropriate response should be, but in the end, the show(s) went on.
Jibbies & Loond celebrate upcoming new releases from Orange Goblin, Truckfighters, and The Shrine; lament Lemmy’s up and down efforts to stay healthy, Dan Lilker’s retirement, and IHOP taking over a big chunk of the old Limelight; and generally bitch about the general suckfest that is the Grammy’s, particularly the slight of Jeff Hanneman during In Memorium. They also express their joy at the fine pairing of Goatwhore and 1349 on this year’s Metal Alliance tour, and their willingness to revisit headliners Behemoth with open minds and metal hearts.
