This'll be fun - for me at least.
We'll start off with the SOTD from last week: Moon Knight.
There's a bad moon on the rise!
Next, we'll begin cleanup in Adobe Illustrator.
If I have the good sense to erase most of my errant lines, clean us is
relatively easy. If I don't, it takes forever. It is
also during the clean up phase that I begin to figure out what I do and don't
like about the pose. And sin...
Good Friday to you all.
We're back to once again take a trip to the corners of the internet, both sacred
and profane. Why? Because its what we do. We're digital explorers.
We bring 'em back alive and
let you view from behind the glass.
Earlier this week, I was lamenting to the missus that I hadn't come up with a
suitable cheesecake selection for this week. We haven't hit the summer
movie season which makes my life SO much easier and nob...
Greetings from the Land of 'Geek kids.
Today would normally be Tax Day, but since Washington, D.C. is closed down for Emancipation Day (?) you've got until Monday to "render unto Caesar."
Until then, why don't you let us take your mind off all that with some links and cheesecake.
This week's selection is the very rare double dip. True, we've been featuring two pictures of our weekly selections for some time now, but today, for only the second time ever, we'll be featuring two ...
I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Marvel's 'Batman'. One of the first books I read regularly. At one time I had everything he'd been in from 'Werewolf by Night' to the 'Hulk' magazines and up through his second title. Who doesn't love an Egyptian God's schitzo-billionaire agent of vengeance. In fact, I think 'Agent of Vengeance' is about the only title they haven't tried to slap on one of Moonie's books.
After they shoe-horned him into the West Coast ...
Yesterday, I had to return a lot of phone calls, which meant a lot of time on hold.
This is what happens.
"I'm Michael Keaton!"
And so you can see where I started...in case you didn't see it yesterday....
"I am the Mannydamm Batman!"
Or as I like to look at it - Cause and Effect.
It is entirely possible that this image might change before I'm happy with it.
Last year, the guy who directed the Fame remake caught the Internet off guard with his short spec film re-imagining the Mortal Kombat universe. "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth" was much grittier than the 1995 feature adaptation of the video game series (although it did suffer from a lack of cameos from the WMAC Masters) and Kevin Tancharoen (brother of Whedonverse alum Mo) made it with the hopes of convincing Warner Brothers to let him helm a full reboot.
Don't head the theaters yet, but Warne...
So, I'm sitting at the computer waiting for some files to download and the service tech to come back to the phone. There's people dropping by asking me to fix things for them and because I'm not talking on the phone in my ear they just assume I'm not really on it.
Wish I was joking.
Here's today's quick sketches.
In brightest day, in blackest night, Geoff Johns will not escape my sight
"I am the Mannydamm Batman!
Wait, what? I drew him with real legs and not ...
I stumbled upon this book at the local library earlier today. I was a bit surprised. Stan Lee is known for writing/creating most of the characters associated with Marvel Comics. From the Fantastic Four to the X-Men they all sprang from the fertile frontal lobe of Stan the Man.
But drawing? That really wasn't Stan's thing.
Intrigued, I picked up the book and opened it to the first page.
HIRE JACK KIRBY!
There were a lot of blank pages after that.
Who says its hard to break into comic...
A tremendous Friday to you all.
Yes, I just dropped some Rome on you. What can I say? Its Smackoff Friday and I just back to the office after running some errands. The calls were well above par so far and if there's anything we like here, its good smack.
Well, that and cheesecake.
See what I did there?
Clever, I know.
While you sit there dazzled by epic wordplay, say hello to this week's cheesecake, Jennifer Garner.
Ms. Garner stars opposite Russell ...
So...work has been kicking my butt for the past couple weeks (months). To let off a little steam, I decided to make myself draw for at least a half hour to an hour a day.
You know, to keep me from hurting a co-worker.
Some of the results are garbage, some are okay. I'll be posting the better pieces here.
Maybe, over time, we'll see improvement.
First out of the gate is Dr. Strange. I've always liked the outfit, and now that I've gone grey at the temples, I kind of loo...
