What does Gonzogeek's resident lapsed comic book reader think about DC's "New 52"? He weighs in on a few of the new releases, with a certain book about a certain Amazonian at the top of the list.

Monza and the Italian Grand Prix brought the European portion of the 2011 Formula One season to a close and brought Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) within striking distance of becoming the youngest back-to-back F1 champion ever. Singapore is the first of three consecutive races in the Far East, the only one on a street circuit, and the longest race of the year. It is also the only night race on the Formula One calendar.
Going into the weekend there were a number of possible outcom...

This week the J&L Show became the L&B Show as Jibbies was unavailable to join us due to being in Brazil for his day job. We hope you got in some tasty sights while you were there Jibbies…ha! Filling in for the absent Jibbies is local guitar hero (Neural Nectar, Supavillain, Jin Pei ) – Mr. Bobby “Gordo” Gordon. And so with a bottle of Wild Turkey and a couple of Optimator beers at hand, Loond and Gordo embark on a Metal journey of old and new. The two dive into a lengthy discussion about Anthrax and their new record – “Worship Music”. They wade through the sludge and muscular riffing that encompasses the mighty Black Tusk from Savannah , Georgia . The guys then gush geekishly about their admiration for skinsman extraordinaire John Tempesta and their excitement about seeing him play with Testament on the upcoming tour. A call to the Coroner is made as they talk about the reunion of the fantastic and ahead of their time Swiss band with the same moniker. An extremely obscure blast from the past in the form of Plaid Retina rounds out the show as Gordo explains the huge impact this band had and still has on his own guitar playing. So join us for another fun filled episode with horns in the sky.

Fourteen years and 10 months ago, the Ultimate Fighting Championship held its inaugural event at the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado. At the time of that event, infamous for Royce Gracie, the guy with one boxing glove and the dawn of the lawless "human cockfighting" childhood of mixed martial arts, Quinton Jackson was a high school wrestler in Memphis, Tennessee. Jon Jones was six.
The McNichols Arena was leveled in 1999 after the opening of Denver's new Pepsi Center, the site o...

Forget about going out with a bang. In the world of Jonathan London’s skewed, gore-soaked, ultra-violent hero Super Action Man, Osama Bin Laden goes out with one very unique sound effect…
“KORF!”
Giving away how Bin Laden gets KORF-ed out of existence would be a spoiler of egregious levels. Suffice to say it fits the overall theme of London’s first issue of the Super Action Man book. Bloody, and hilarious.
London would have to be considered, if not a Renaissanc...
