Jibbies brings tidings of new death metal glory from the great white north, having caught Montreal’s mighty Dark Century in Calgary. Before that, however, our duo extol the virtues of first Testament, via their new album ‘Dark Roots of Earth,’ and Brad Gillis-era Ozzy, via the long-awaited commercial release of the ‘Speak Of The Devil’ live concert DVD. Recorded in Irvine, Calif., a few months after Randy Rhoads’ death, it’s still not the full-Sabbath glory of the Ritz double-vinyl LP show, but it’s damn fine. J&L also ponder what on earth is happening regarding Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe’s on-going incarceration in a Czech prison and the pending release of debut solo album, ‘British Lion,’ from none other than Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris.

Schumi was joined on the second row by fellow German Nico Hulkenberg (Force India). Schumach...
