Hey. We're starting to get out into the world now. Well, one of us anyway. Loond reports on the Death Angel show while Jibbies sits on the couch. We also dissect the Gary Holt-as-Slayer-sub situation and generally bring you everything on our minds in the world of metal: from lame TV shows, to recreational drinking practices, and of course, the music that fuels it all....

METAL! - J&L

[Potentially NSFW - Language]

Music featured in this episode:

Death Angel - 'Mistress of Pain'

Sungrazer - 'Common Believer'

Suplecs - 'In Your Shadow'

Freedom Hawk - 'Land Of The Lost'

Exodus - 'Verbal Razors'

Slayer - 'Necrophobic'

Epilogue:

Discontent after Slayer cancels in Sydney, Tom having been hospitalized the night before with an undisclosed illness. Haven't found any HQ Gary Holt footage, esp. in terms of audio.  Would love to see it if you've got some!

Friday LinkFrogging – 2/25/11

Can you feel the excitement kids? It's Oscar weekend, that magical weekend where we all tune in to watch Hollywood give itself a massive handjob.  Don't get me wrong, I like the speculation as much as anyone (see GonzoGeek v. The Oscars).  It just seems a little silly that all these movie folks spend hours handing out statues in categories that none of us really care about.  In truth, the Oscar telecast could be a one-hour special if they really applied themselves. Friendship & Metal Dreams

Bobby and I have been friends since high school (about 23 years).  He is the only person outside of family that I have known that long.  It was our love of Metal that initiated our friendship and today that friendship has evolved, changed, and matured in a host of ways.  We’ve played music together in various permutations since high school and in our last band together I felt the musical chemistry between us was the most incredible.  During composing/arranging sessions ...

Friday LinkFrogging - 2/18/11

Welcome to Friday kids. I don't know about you, but this weekend couldn't have come any sooner. If life is a juggling act, I've been struggling to keep all my balls in the air this week. I'll pause here whilst you make your own jokes. (pause) Okay, moving on. Our ongoing cold snap has passed and left us with days in the 70s.  Perfect weather to bring out the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. I have to honest here.  I didn't realize this thing wa...
