Formula 1: 2011 to 2012 driver/team changes untangled

It takes a man of surpassing focus and clarity to actually untangle the information contained here, but one Adam Reeve put it together, so good on 'im! Likely more changes to come, but this was the lay of the F1 landscape as of Jan. 29, 2012.

Formula 1: Update - Caterham, Lotus, Marussia, and Schumi

Photo: Mathieu Bitton TESTING: The first round of testing for the 2012 season will take place in Jerez, Spain, Feb. 7-10. EX-LOTUS: Caterham , last year’s Team Lotus, has targeted scoring points as its goal for 2012. The team’s best performance in 2012 was 13th, which it hit three times, but the addition of KERS on the new Renault-powered CT01 vehicle has sparked optimism. Even at 13th, Lotus showed the most development of the three teams that debuted in 2010, easily besting HRT ...

After a hard day at the office and armed once again with a glass each of Old Monk rum; J&L embark on a Metaltastic conversation. Loond gives us a live music update and talks about the In Flames show at Warehouse Live. Our duo goes gaga for Goatwhore and their upcoming new record. Other highly anticipated releases from the likes of C.O.C, Meshuggah, and Amorphis are touched on. Loond talks about a newish band from Atlanta called Stone Mountain Freeway and their killer Heavy Southern Rock sound. Jibbies chimes in on the new music front with El Doom & The Born Electric. Well wishes are extended to Tony Iommi. Our duo talks about the upcoming Mayhem festival and the prospect of Motorhead being on tha bill. We then round out the show with a lengthy discussion of Loond’s favorite band - Armored Saint…and how Metallica needs to take those guys on tour with them.

The Jibbies & Loond Show - Episode 025 - Metal 2012!!

The celebrations of good cheer, holiness, and consumerism are over, and it is once again time for METAL!!...in all its shapes and sizes. Lots has happened since our duo last sat down together and they dive right in, tackling both the Ratt/Grohl collaboration and Howard Jones exit from Killswitch Engage. They then offer one last glance into 2011, checking out a few December releases that may have otherwise been overlooked including Black Pyramid 'II'. But onward! 2012 is gonna be HEAVY, Lamb of God setting the tone with the Jan. 24 release of 'Resolution' before launching into what is sure to be a globe-encompassing and domination-establishing tour. And its never too early to start talking festivals, J&L daydreaming outloud about the possibilities of a DesertFest/Roadburn/DesertFest 2-week European couch surf, before Jibbies goes all goofy for UK emo eradicators Hawk Eyes.
