You know, I think Lloyd Dobler had it right.
Unfortunately, with each passing day it seems that I become more and more involved with the buying, selling and processing and less involved with the kickboxing.
My desk at work is a constant sea of paper being moved from one electronic device to another. My "office" at home has become a repository of the dismissed.
That's the great thing about LinkFrogging for me each week. It exists as a purely virtual animal. I email the guys for their links. They hit reply and send them. I paste them into the body of the piece I've already started shaping. I add in my own links and, of course, the all important visuals and a new piece of information has been processed and added to the internet.
It happens without any sort of paper hitting my desk. It happens without the need for applications, meetings or contracts.
The guys know what I'm doing and they trust me to do it.
In that way, maybe I am doing a little bit of kickboxing each week.
Maybe.
And like in
Say Anything, before I bloody your nose with a powerful internet roundhouse kick, I need to distract you.
Say hello to Hayden Panettiere, won't you.
Now in her early 20s, Ms. Panettiere has been acting since she was a wee lass of 5. She got her start on soap operas before appearing in
Remember the Titans when she was a wily veteran of 10. She also spent some time on shows such as
Ally McBeal and
Malcom in the Middle.
She has also spent a fair amount of time lending her vocal talents to the
Kingdom Hearts video game series.
Of course, in our world, she's is most famous as Claire Bennet, the unbreakable cheerleader on NBC's
Heroes.
All together now -
Save the cheerleader...save the world.
Ms. Panettiere is currently starring on the new ABC show,
Nashville, wherein she plays an up-and-coming country singer.
And now, I can throw away the sticky note I keep referring to in order to spell Ms. Panettiere's last name correctly.
Kickboxing.
It's where you find it.
