Choices.

We all make them every day.

From your choice of coffees at Starbucks to which radio station you listen to in the car on the way to work, you choose.

We choose which sports teams we root for.  We choose what kind of car to drive.  We choose what to have for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We watch debates in an effort to make an educated choice in elections.

Our choices give our lives a butterfly effect.  Each choice leads us to the next choice.

Yes, life is just a 3-D "Choose Your Own Adventure" book.

This is the time of year when all of the television networks attempt to insert themselves into your choices.  They present you with a full slate of new programming in hopes that you will choose their shows and, by extension, fill their corporate coffers.

Oftentimes, the choices are between two similarly situated shows.  Take for instance last season's offerings - Grimm and Once Upon a Time.

Both "borrowed" liberally from the geek phenom, Fables, but in different ways.  Grimm gave us creatures of legend as the baddies in a police procedural.  Once Upon a Time was a much more direct Fables lift - the characters from fairy tales living among us.

I chose Grimm.

I blew it.

I only made it 3 episodes before I gave up.

Meanwhile, Once Upon a Time went on to a huge following.

Choices.

One thing that Once Upon a Time did for us was move this week's cheesecake into a more fully into the spotlight.

Please say hello to Ginnifer Goodwin.

Ms. Goodwin first came onto our geek radar as Diana Snyder on Ed.  Her presence on that show was all of the proof that the geeks of the world needed to know that Warren Cheswick was a complete and utter moron.

Following her stint in Stuckeyville, Ms. Goodwin played the best friend in a series of romantic comedies and Johnny Cash's first wife in Walk the Line,  until she was cast as one of Bill Paxton's wife in the polygamy drama, Big Love.

After six years on Big Love, she made the jump to Once Upon a Time and the role of Snow White.  I defy you to call her miscast.

Nice choice Ms. Goodwin.

Since I don't watch Once Upon a Time (at least not yet), I have to ask does Snow White hook up with the Big Bad Wolf like in Fables?
