Austin, Tex., metal band Eagle Claw will release its sophomore album Timing of the Void Oct. 30 via ECH Records. The follow up to the group's 2010 debut Poacher, Timing of the Void was recorded at Folkvang Studios and produced by Bryan Richie of fellow ATX metalheads The Sword. Featuring eight tracks of the quartet's "InstruMetal", the record's title and overarching theme is based on The Book of Five Rings, a text on kenjutsu and the martial arts written by Japanese swordsman Miyamoto Musashi circa 1645.
Immediately following the release of Timing of the Void, Eagle Claw will hit the road for a US tour as special guests of The Sword. The tour will launch on Oct. 29 in Corpus Christi, Tex., and run through Nov. 24 in Baton Rouge, La.
"We are so proud of this album!" said Eagle Claw guitarist Matt Rade. "Everything about it turned out better than we expected (and we already knew it was gonna kick ass). Bryan Richie really helped bring this album together and captured our live spontaneity in the studio. We put the focus on getting to the point quicker, which has given us and the songs more energy than ever before."
Timing of the Void track listing:
1.) Lifegate
2.) Diagram of the Tempest
3.) Uzumaki Vortex
4.) Ophidian
5.) Fifth Ring
6.) Wielder

8.) Deathgate
Eagle Claw is working on a music video for the song "Fifth Ring" with Austin design firm RECSPEC that will debut soon.
