We've spent the week celebrating Hollywood here at the 'Geek.

In case you haven't been paying attention, we've all made our annual Oscar picks.  On Sunday we'll see if a twelve year old video game can do better than us.  The odds seem to be in its favor.

I always find it amusing and possibly ironic (did I use that right Alanis?) that the Oscars are presented in February, traditionally one of the months Hollywood uses to dump the movies it spent money on that turned out to be crap.

I'm looking at you, The Vow.  And you, This Means War.

And don't think that since we're a geek site that you're exempt, Ghost Rider:  Spirit of Vengeance.

The first couple of months of the year are usually fallow ground for movie fans.  Some of these flims make money simply because people go to the movies and have to pick something.

I'm reminded of an old Dennis MIller line.  "Hey folks, two of shit is shit."

Anyway, if you haven't, take a look at our picks won't you?

And if that's not your thing, then take a look at our cheesecake.  That's why you're here isn't it?

Today's lucky lady is the Silk Spectre herself, Malin Akerman.

Ms. Akerman is appearing in the new movie, Wanderlust, opposite Paul Rudd and cheesecake alum, Jennifer Aniston.

Wanderlust is from the mind of David Wain and his The State compadres.  The fact that its debuting in February tells you what the studio thinks of it.

The movie's claim to fame has been that it was going to be the movie in which Jennifer Aniston finally did her first frontal nude scene.

That all changed this week when Ms. Aniston pulled the nudity out of "respect" for her current boyfriend/co-star, Justin Theroux.

I hate bait and switch.

But I digress.

As previously stated, Ms. Akerman is probably most famous in our geekly circles for her role as Silk Spectre in Watchmen.  However, she's also had a great deal of success working with the Frat Pack, appearing opposite Ben Stiller in The Heartbreak Kid and Vince Vaughn in Couples Retreat.

She was also in a little arthouse movie called Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle.  You may have missed that one.

She's also part of the cast on GonzoGeek favorite, Children's Hospital.

In addition to being an actress, Ms. Akerman is also a model and served as the lead singer for the alternative rock band The Petalstones.  She even went so far as to marry the drummer.

On to the links.
