Every once in a while a perfect bill emerges. One band is doing some low-key gigs to start the tour for its biggest album yet (Mastodon). Another band is doing club dates in support of its own great new album (Black Tusk). These two cross paths by virtue of some highly focused booking. Add a highly touted local act more than happy to open things up (Venomous Maximus), set it all in an iconic old wooden room bordering on just plain to small for the event (Fitzgerald's), and it's
nearly impossible not to have fun.
