Friday LinkFrogging - 8/26/11
Well kids, the summer of 2011 is almost gone.

I'm personally looking forward to fall and temperatures here in Texas dropping back into the mid-80s.

Of course, the end of summer also brings us the dregs of the summer movie season.  This is the time of year Hollywood is hoping we've been so numbed by pirates, gobots and superheroes that they can slide in some of their lesser offerings and we won't notice.

How'd that work out for you Conan?

Was One Day the title of the movie or how long it was in theaters?

But I kid.

This week brings us a revenge flick starring Zoe Saldana, a horror movie starring Mrs. Tom Cruise and a wacky comedy starring Paul Rudd and this week's cheesecake.

Please say hello to Zooey Deschanel.

Ms. Deschanel's geek creds are as solid as they come.  She first appeared on our radar as the rebellious older sister in Almost Famous.  As Jovie, she won the heart of Buddy, everyone's favorite man-elf in Elf.  She played Trillian in The Hitcherhiker's Guide to the Universe.  She was Jim Carrey's girl in Yes Man and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's favorite season in (500) Days of Summer.  Most recently she played Belladona in Danny McBride's sword, sorcery and smoke epic(?) Your Highness.

This week she stars as one of the sisters of the titular character in Our Idiot Brother opposite Paul Rudd.

In her spare time, Ms. Deschanel is one half of the indie duo She & Him with producer M. Ward.
