Comic-Con 2011: TNA Hullabaloo, JAKKS Pacific Toys

I give up.  I've tried to post this three times now, only to have all my text dumped.

Here's the long and the short of it.

We went to a TNA, JAKKS Pacific shindig while we were in San Diego.  They wined and dined us (or beer and appetizered us) and put on a show.   Kurt Angle was on hand to debut a limited edition 'Camo Kurt' figure, which was created to help raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warriors Project ,a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors.  And yes, I kipped that straight from the press release.

The figure is limited, numbered and available exclusively at www.shoptna.com.   Proceeds go to WWP, so pony up!

Jakks was also showing figures from the upcoming 'Cross the Line' and DLX series (5 and 6 if you're counting at home).  These were pretty good looking toys, and the people from JAKKS were good enough to provide photos, which is great, because mine sucked.  There is only so much you can do with the lighting in a bar at night in the dark.

John was able to score interviews with Rob Van Dam and Mickie James, and earlier in the day, Chris Daniels and Kazarian.  He's working on typing those up and should have them posted shortly.   Bruce and I got to rub elbows with Angle and  Eric Young, both of whom were SUPER nice and pretty cool about being asked, repeatedly, if they were comic book fans.

Matt was supposed to interview Kurt, but ran out of time when the venue turned back into a bar and the drinks were no longer free.

He got jobbed.

Enjoy the photos.
