Well, we made it through another week kids.
The government is open for business again. The Super Bowl is breathing down our necks. We are on the Road to Wrestlemania and, I'm back with a look at what I got into this week.
It's been a rather crazy week here at home base, but I still managed to get in some good stuff.
- Okay, I'm totally late to the party on this one, but damn YouTube, you nailed this one. The 30-year-in-the-making sequel to The Karate Kid
finds Johnny Lawrence as a washout living in the past and watching Daniel LaRussa live the life of a champion. Both of their kids get involved in the rivalry. Both men seek redemption through karate. They end up as a pair of sensei watching their students facing off in the tournament. Through 10 half hour episodes, this series, a YouTube Original, is a winner! If you had asked me a week ago if I was looking forward to a Karate Kid
redux, I would have said no. Now, I can't wait to see where the story goes in Season 2. If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and watch this one. You'll feel great after you do.
BUBBA HO-TEP AND THE COSMIC BLOOD SUCKERS
- From the demented mind of Joe R. Lansdale comes the further/early adventures of Elvis Presley, monster hunter. Out now from IDW Publishig, Bubba Ho-Tep is a balls out comic adventure that find the King of Rock taking on a bunch of, well, cosmic blood suckers. Too tell say anymore would be telling, but come on this book reads like the most insane Elvis movie ever. Read it!
TOO MANY DIRTY DISHES
- The Google Home played this one on Sunday when I asked for blues. This is officially my new favorite blues metaphor. And to hear the song delivered by the Iceman himself is nothing short of a religious experience. Enjoy.
