Well this week has been a shit show hasn't it?
I think we're watching the wheels come off of our grand experiment. Civil discourse is dead. Bipartisanship is dead.
Next to go?
The Supreme Court.
Look, I don't do politics because, quite frankly, the game is fixed. Still, what's going on around us is hard to watch.
That's why I was glad to get sick this week.
That's right, I was happier to be down for a couple of days with a mystery illness than to be engaging with current events.
I was able to catch up on some past due viewing.
watched The Hateful Eight
I finished the second season of Iron Fist
That last one was worrisome because of how absolutely hard to watch the first season was.
I know they had to introduce the character to the newly converted masses, but sweet Manny, they did it in the most tedious way possible.
They were afraid to embrace Iron Fist's chop socky origins as they ducked the unnecessary flack about the character's ethnicity.
So, I'm please to announce that season two fixed the problems with Iron Fist
Do you know how they did it?
I'll tell you.
Someone finally read the Matt Fraction run on the character. That run added depth and nuance to the character and should give the series fodder for several years to come.
So, with that said, please say hello to this week's hostess, Jessica Stroup.
Ms. Stroup stars on Iron Fist
as Joy Meachum, Danny Rand's childhood friend turned frenemy.
Prior to Iron Fist, you've seen Ms. Stroup in Prom Night, Ted, 90210
and The Following
We're going to be seeing more of her, you can count on it.
Let's hit the links.
