Friday LinkFrogging - 8/10/18
Welcome to Friday kids.

Despite my best intentions, I didn't get anything posted since last Friday.

Why you may or may not ask?

I took the week off from the day job to hang with the family and didn't get anything else posted.

I'll get to that.

In the meantime, it looks like the universe knew I was on vacation and threw me a fat pitch right down the middle of the plate when it came time to choose this week's cheesecake.

The Wonder Twins and I have been looking forward with far too much anticipation to the release of The Meg.

My standard line has been "I can't wait to see Jason Statham Superman punch that shark in the nose."

Look, I'm not expecting much out of The Meg.  It's a big dump action/monster movie.  Sometimes that and a box of popcorn is all you need.

Then, as if by divine intervention, the good folks at the CW network announced their casting of the lead for the upcoming Batwoman television show.

Say hello, again, to Ruby Rose.

This is Ms. Rose's second time as our hostess, but when you're fighting a prehistoric shark and becoming the CW's Dark Knight in the same week, well, you get the nod.

I dig the synergy of Ms. Rose being cast as Kathy Kane, the lesbian cousin of Bruce Wayne and the woman behind the wig and cowl.

The Batwoman character has the chance to be a game changer for the CW/DC-verse.  Sure, she'll be loaded down with angst, self-doubt and romantic entanglements, but, done correctly she could become an iconic character.

Time will tell.

Let's hit the links.
