So, last week Disney completed the deal to purchase 20th Century Fox.
The Marvel Universe is, largely, reunited. We may yet see the X-Men and the Fantastic Four in the MCU.
They are also picking up
Planet of the Apes, Alien, Kingsman, Predator, independence Day, Home Alone and
Die Hard.
Think about that for a minute. A Disney
Die Hard movie.
Insert Yippe-Kai-Ya in Mickey voice.
But that isn't stopping the House of Mouse from cranking out new movies based on their original properties.
Take for instance this week's new release,
Christopher Robin.
With DNA on loan from
Hook,
Christopher Robin gives us a look at a grown up Christopher Robin being reunited with the magical characters of his childhood.
Yes, Winnie the Pooh is there. So is Tigger. And Eeyore. And Piglet.
I could have kept on going there, just so you know.
Ewan McGregor trades in his Jedi robes for grey flannel. He does his usual likeable guy.
And, no lost man-child would be complete without the woman who understands and loves him.
Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.
Hi honey.
In Ewan/Christopher's case, that woman is played by this week's cheesecake.
Please say hello, again, to Hayley Atwell.
Since her
last appearance in this feature, Ms. Atwell has laid pretty low. She's appeared in
Conviction, Howard's End and, as Peggy Carter again, in
Ant-Man.
Pretty slim pickings, but she's back and that's good for all of us.
