Here's the thing about pop culture "scholarship."
Being an observer and collector of pop culture, one accumulates stacks of ephemera. You accumulate so much stuff that it clogs up your neurons. You start to see connections that others don't see.
Sometimes you end up playing your own version of Five Degrees of Bacon in your own head.
This all occurred to me as I was searching for this week's cheesecake.
Please say hello to Kate Bosworth.
What does this semi-rant have to do with Ms. Bosworth you may ask?
Let me explain.
I was looking for inspiration as I do each week. I stopped by IMDB and noticed that Ms. Bosworth was starring in a new movie called The Domestics
Now, I'm less concerned about the Purge meets Mad Max vibe of this movie than I am by Ms. Bosworth's co-star.
That's Taylor Hoechlin.
He's the CW's Superman.
Why is that important to today's lesson?
It's because once I knew this movie existed, I immediately jumped to the fact that Ms. Bosworth had played Lois Lane in Superman Returns
opposite Brandon Routh who now plays the Atom on the CW.
I'm sure the brain cells involved in this permutation could have been better used for something else, but that is now the way I'm wired.
So, Kate Bosworth is your cheesecake because she played Lois Lane in one of the worst Superman movies.
