Today is a big day around the old homestead.
Today my boys, the inspiration for Adventures of a Geek Dad
, turn 15.
I've watched them grown from tiny little things that could find on my arm to gangly man-children and I've loved every single minute of it.
From Cub Scouts to baseball to karate. From The Brave and the Bold
They've started to develop opinions of their own. They started to develop tastes of their own. In short, they've started to become their own people.
It's amazing and infuriating all at the same time.
So, when the universe aligned to land their 15th birthday on a Friday, I decided to give them a very special gift. I decided to let them choose today's cheesecake.
It took them all of two seconds to agree.
That never happens.
So, please say hello to our very special birthday cheesecake, Gal Gadot.
This marks Ms. Gadot's third time serving as our hostess. That puts her in very rarified company.
Based on her IMDB profile, with turns in Justice League, Flash
and Wonder Woman
movies, she's going to pretty much be playing Wonder Woman for the foreseeable future. I'm sure that's going to make the Wonder Twins very...VERY...happy.
They aren't the first Cook boys to be enamored of a Wonder Woman. It turns out Ms. Gadot is to my boys as Lynda Carter was to me.
So, happy birthday boys. I hope you enjoyed your day and your cheesecake.
