It's been a long couple of weeks around here kids.
Still, through it all, I've continued to copiously consume the pop culture as is my self-imposed duty.
So what did I partake of?
So glad you asked.
- Last week the family and I took in the opening night of the Foo Fighters' North American tour. I'd never heard of the opening band, the Struts, but after watching their blistering glam rock set, I was a convert. Today I blasted their debut CD in the Jeep and, if there was an semblance of rock radio left, these guys would be huge in the same way the Black Crowes were in 1990. Don't believe me? Let the music do the talking.
- HBO's dystopian amusement park series returned last night and it was, as you would expect, a mind bender. The show opens a couple of weeks after the massacre of last year's season finale. There are still lots of moving pieces, but I think its going to be another wild ride.
- I've been watching the ABC reboot in fits and starts. The pilot was clunky. The second episode was much better. It was funny first and topical second. That's what always made the original series so much fun.
