It was a busy weekend around the old homestead as we prepare for the arrival of family and the All-American gluttony that will follow. However, we did manage to squeeze in some quality pop culture. Here goes...
- I wanted to like it. I've been waiting for it my entire geek life. The Justice League - FINALLY - united on the big screen. The results? Meh. The DCEU is a hot mess and the hurried release of Justice League
did nothing to stop the bleeding. Too many characters. Too much green screen. Too much CGI. Not enough heart. I honestly don't know where they go from here, but it would almost have to be up by default. Save us Shazam!
- My kids bought the latest iteration of the WWE's storied video game franchise for their Xbox. Today, I spent a few minutes playing with them. Great graphics (better than Justice League). DEEP roster. In our first TLC match, I played as Dusty Rhodes - complete with polka dotted trunks. Then it was Michael "PS" Hayes who has a moonsault as a taunt. Finally, I won a match playing as "Ravishing" Rick Rude. So, all you fat, out of work Silicon Valley nancy boys...thank you!
- Yeah, this is hedging my bets. I mentioned this last week, but I finished it on Friday. Holy shit! Belive the hype kids. This show is bonkers in the best possible way. I figured out the big twist moments before the reveal. I was that into it. If you haven't seen this show, do it this weekend. You can thank me next week.
