Friday LinkFrogging - 11/17/17
When I imagined today, I always imagined it as a day of joy.  A day of celebration.

Now, when the day has finally arrived, all I've got is an impending sense of dread.

That's right kids, today is Justice League day.

Every since I spend my days watching Adam West camp his way through Batman and my Saturdays watching Super Friends, I've dreamt of the day I'd see the Justice League on the big screen.

Now that that day has finally arrived, I'm afraid of what waits for me tonight.

With the release of Justice League, the future of the DCEU has reached a critical tipping point.

In an effort to mirror the box office success of the MCU, Warner Brothers has rushed to this point with three middling movies and one truly great one.

I've got no real emotional attachment to this Superman or Batman.  Now, in the span of two hours I'm supposed to feel that attachment, plus establish it with three more characters.

That's asking a lot for a movie with two directors and suspect storyline.

Tonight, I'm expecting the worst and hoping for the middle.

That's not what these characters deserve.  That's not what I deserve.

Of course, even with that being said, it doesn't mean I'm not going to piggyback our cheesecake off the back of Justice League.

Please say hello to Amber Heard.

Ms. Heard appears in Justice League as Mera, the wife of Jason Momoa's Aquaman.  Yes, she's the queen of the sea and another character we will be introduced to.

Of course, Ms. Heard is perhaps most famous for being the ex-wife of Johnny Depp.  Her accusations of domestic abuse rightly threatened to destroy Depp's career.

Her filmography includes Zombieland, Machete Kills, The Rum Diary, Pineapple Express and Friday Night Lights.

Let's hope her Mera doesn't get lost in the sauce.

Let's hit the links.
